We're happy to announce that we will have a limited reopening May 19 2020, to first treat patients with emergency needs delayed during restrictions. Hygiene appointments to resume in early June. We will contact you to set up these appointments. Moving forward there will be some delays in scheduling appointments. Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time.
Please note that as a result of COVID-19, we have updated some of our daily procedures. You'll still receive the same great service from our dedicated team, however to ensure the safety of all our patients we've implemented the following changes:
We request that you stay in your car until notified to come into the office. If you are handicapped, use a wheelchair, or use a drop off service, you may enter our office and stay in the waiting room.
PLEASE WEAR A MASK AS YOU COME INTO THE OFFICE.
If you have a temperature equal to of greater than 100.4 F on the day of your appointment or have any symptoms please notify our office and we can reschedule your appointment; we will be taking temperatures on all patients on the day of your appointment.
Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You'll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will be also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
You will see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children's toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you're offered fewer options for scheduling your appointments.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 2 weeks of having visited our office, we ask that you contact us.

Welcome to our webpage! Whether you are an existing patient, a new patient, or someone looking for an answer to a dental question, we hope you find this site both helpful and interesting. We are a third generation family dental practice. Our Grandfather, “Tom” Tomhave, started this practice in Cloquet in 1926, and other than a brief interruption during which he served in World War II, this practice has been steadily growing and improving ever since. Our dad, Jack, practiced dentistry from 1953 to 1995, Jim began in 1985, and Steve in 1993. We are proud of this legacy and the trust our patients place in us. Our goal is to serve as your dentist for a lifetime, we have many patients in their 80’s and 90’s whose only dentist has been a Tomhave. This gives us a unique perspective and passion for our patients and their dental health. We provide excellent care while also understanding the emotional and financial burdens that can sometimes accompany dentistry. Despite our long history we strive to have the most current and relevant knowledge, skills and technology available.
As proud as we are of our family tradition and history, we are equally proud of the people we are fortunate enough to share our workday with. We think you will find our staff exceptional!
